VOLUNTEER PROTOCOL: How To Rescue Injured Wildlife

Locals and visitors commonly encounter injured wildlife, but are not sure what to do or whom to call. We are improving public knowledge in this area and providing resources and training for volunteers.Injured birds, small mammals, raccoons, and many others rely upon volunteers to help them get to the designated wildlife rehabilitation centres (mostly located in the lower Mainland). We have established a protocol and volunteer network to strengthen and support the community’s response to injured wildlife. You can find a link to the Google Doc with more detailed volunteer information and a step-by step protocol by clicking the following link:

This volunteer network works strictly under the guidance, advice and recommendations of the designated and permitted provincial wildlife rehabilitation centres.
